"Being a Hero is about the shortest-lived profession on earth

And when the hero go off stage, the clowns come on."

Heinrich Heine

War has existed as long as man, and will unfortunately exist as long as we do.

Because its created by men.

The First World War was called “The war to end all wars“.

I did not.

The cost was over 40 million lives.

The second world war cost 78 million lives, making it the deadliest war so far.

The 20th century will go down in history as the most violent ever.

A world in constant conflict with itself.

The third world war will probably be the last, but who will be left to celebrate the end of it?

This Album of images is a war declaration against all wars.

The exhibit opened in the prestigious Kowasa Gallery in Barcelona on the same day as the Iraqi war started. A coincidence that we naturally could not have foreseen.

The exhibit called “Give Peace a Chance or have a Nice War“ was created in close collaboration with my partner at the time Agnieszka Dellert-Dellfina.

The exhibit got a lot of media attention and many TV interviews and articles was the result.

We dominated the culture pages for a month and got a whole page in the Spanish News paper El Pais.

The show was a success but we did not stop any war.

We new we would not, but still. As an artist I feel one has a responsibility to be involved and to fight for human rights and freedom in all its many forms.

It’s naïve to believe an artwork can stop any violence, but it can spread rings on the water, and work as an antidote against the commercial machinery that feeds military conflicts.
