Golden Girl Leni is a portrait of Leni Riefenstahl made using real Gold Leaf.
Leni was one of the most creative women artist of the 20th century, dancer, actress, film director, writer, scuba diver and not to forget Photographer.
She lived an extravagant life in a Golden cage but in a time of death and tyranny as she happens to be born in Germany and living and working during the NSDAP years from 1933 to 45.
She is therefore controversial but still one of the wef women in this period of time that stands out as a true artist and creator of eternal beauty. Her way of filming the Olympic Games of 1936 would create a school that still today is followed when reporting and documenting sport events. The artist Thomas Dellerts grandfather Oscar was participating in the 36 Olympic Summer Games in Berlin and have inspired the artist Thomas to work on this theme in memory of the many stories he told him.
